PROGRAM: Sher Dunaway will speak on “PRIMER ON ARRANGING” Sher will demonstrate basic arranging techniques and designs.

Sher Dunaway is a Tarrant County Master Gardener and speaker through the Master Gardener Speaker's Bureau. She gives numerous programs on various subjects of interest relating to a
variety of gardening topics, floral design workshops, and programs on the pollinators: birds, bees and butterflies and how they contribute to a healthy ecosystem.
Sher has a Master's Degree in Anthropology/Sociology from The University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds degrees in Art History, Interior Design and Photography. She is a member of
The Garden Club Council of Fort Worth, The Fort Worth Garden Club and The Woman's Club of Fort Worth where she is active in several departments and is on the Board of Directors. She is also an
Advisory Board Member of The UT-Arlington Center of Greater Southwest Studies and The Advisory Board of The UT-Arlington Friends of the Library.
APRIL 10-11 - FW Botanic Garden plant sale for the public- 9:00 a. m. - 2:00 p. m.
The FWRS will partner with the Dallas Rose Society to present our Rose Expo and ARS Rose Show on April 18 and April 19, 2015.
It will be held at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens in conjunction with Flowercade, which is sponsored by the Greater FW Area Council of Garden Clubs, and the Iris Show, sponsored by the FW Iris Society.
In addition to the Expo and its publicly judged classes, there will be certified ARS judges for the rose show. Anyone can enter the Expo and/or the Show. Also, we will sell roses on the FWBG patio April 18 (10:00 – 5:00) & April 19 (12:00- 5:00), and sell buds in vase pens. (We could use the donations of buds for the pens.)
We’ll also have rose bushes for sale, offer a children’s rose craft table, and conduct a “Walk in the Gardens,” a tour of the Botanic Garden for patrons.
A workshop, “For the Enjoyment of Roses,” will be offered in the greeting room on April 19, from 2:00-3:30, conducted by Larry Wiley.
Door Prizes! In addition, we will give goody bags to new exhibitors, to those members of the public who judge the Expo, and to rose bush purchasers. These bags include: coupons, a Rose Prose, a list of Earth-Kind roses, the FWRS pamphlets, “You Can Grow Roses” and “All Roses in FW Botanic Garden”, a pen and pad, and FWRS membership info. We will need people for the education and sale tables, helping the public judges, and someone to maintain the water levels in the vases of the roses on display.
In addition we need trophy sponsors for twenty-one ARS trophies at $15 each (who will be recognized as trophy donors).
MAY 5 - “MINIATURE AND MINIFLORA ROSES” (Regular Meeting)
FWRS member, Master Rosarian, and ARS judge, Jimmy Sanford, will discuss these popular rose varieties.

This is the perfect time to donate those seldom-used rose- or garden-related items, OR any other gadgets, gizmos, whatever you have around, so they can find a happy new home. This is a fun-filled fund raising event for our FW Rose Society. All proceeds go to the Rose Society.
ALSO, bring some money so you can take home a treasure!
So, plan to bring items to place in the sale. This will be a good fundraiser only if we all participate!

South Central Rose Show & Convention
October 16-18, 2015
The Fort Smith RS along with Central AR RS will be hosting the Convention and Show this year.
The Show and most events will be held at the Executive Hotel at City Center Downtown Friday & Saturday. Sunday will be tours of four private gardens and commence with lunch at our Public Rose Garden.
Special silent auction items will be available, from live rose plants to porcelain roses to vases to arraignment books.
